Collaboration with Stephan Brekelmans/Interartist

“If I could sing, I would never have become a designer,” I often say and I still believe it. Classical music, particularly singing, calms and relaxes me immensely. Singing is the most direct means of conveying emotion, art and culture. But I can’t sing, so when I come across someone who can, like Stephan Brekelmans, who works in what I call the "Champions League of the Arts”, I’ve plenty to talk about. Before long, we started talking about the fact that classical music is often heard in places where people are dressed formally and have to spend the evening sitting straight up (personally, I have no problem sitting at the edge of my seat). For some time, Stephan had been toying with the idea to have music and musicians play in a different setting, combined with art, video images, food and lots more. This is in perfect keeping with our goal to bring together different disciplines in the new building and offer a platform for specialists to present their art to us with heart and soul.
